LANSING, Mich., and PHOENIX, Ariz: Sept. 2, 2004: Capitol Bancorp Limited (NYSE:CBC) will be a featured presenter at the West Coast Super-Community Bank Conference in San Francisco on Thursday, September 9.

Capitol Bancorp Limited Chairman and CEO Joseph D. Reid will be joined by Chief Financial Officer Lee W. Hendrickson and Chief of Capital Markets Michael M. Capitol, a community bank development company, recently opened its 32nd community bank, Point Loma Community Bank, in Southern California on August 2. This is Capitol's fourth community bank in California. Capitol's total assets approximated $3 billion at June 30, 2004 and in July the company announced its 48th consecutive quarterly cash dividend of $0.17 per common share.
